Monroe City Great C.E. Talton Returns to Olney Central for Third Year

Former Monroe City basketball star C.E. Talton returned to Olney Central for a third year of junior college.

Both the NJCAA and NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility due to the pandemic. Talton recaps his first two seasons as a starter at Olney Central in Illinois.

Talton averaged almost 10 points, two rebounds, and two assists on 52 percent shooting last year. The Monroe City native says he’s eager to be a full-time point guard in his third college season.

Talton graduated Monroe City as a two-time All-Stater, two-time Clarence Cannon Conference Player of the Year, and three-time KRES All-Star. The guard discusses his development since his Panther career.

Talton operated camps for third through 12th graders in Monroe City last summer. C.E.’s twin brothers Joshua and Josiah Talton will be seniors for a Monroe City team in search of its third straight Show-Me Showdown appearance. Hear a full interview with C.E. Talton below.
