Former Monroe City basketball star C.E. Talton nears his third season at Olney Central. Talton reveals his focus for his last year of junior college.
Talton returned to Olney Central in Illinois after the NJCAA granted an extra year of eligibility due to the pandemic. The point guard evaluates Olney Central’s roster.
Talton averaged almost 10 points, two rebounds, and two assists on 52 percent shooting last season. The two-year starter says he also enjoys Olney Central off the court.
Talton operated basketball camps for third through 12th graders in Monroe City last summer.
Talton fueled three straight district championships at Monroe City. Twin brothers Joshua and Josiah Talton followed with back-to-back Show-Me Showdown appearances. The older Talton discusses Monroe City’s continued success.
Talton graduated Monroe City as a two-time All-Stater, two-time Clarence Cannon Conference Player of the Year, and three-time KRES All-Star. Joshua and Josiah Talton will be seniors when the Panthers pursue a sixth consecutive district title this winter.
