Monroe City Cross Country Runner Places in Class 2 Meet

A Monroe City cross country runner placed 12th in the girls Class 2 Cross Country Championships last week in Columbia. Junior Emmalee Williams qualified for her second straight state meet, but medaled for the first time.

Williams’ time was 21:09.4. The junior uses the sport to prepare her for track.

She felt more prepared to run in this year’s meet.

Williams outlines her offseason goals.

Williams also helped Monroe City’s boys cross country team prepare the last few weeks for their first ever state meet at Gans Creek.
