Despite school being closed until early April, progress continues to be made on the Monroe City School District’s building projects. Monroe City Superintendent Dr. Tracy Bottoms provides an update.

Work on the new elementary school is expected to begin in June. Bottoms says the spread of the coronavirus hasn’t led to any issues during the construction process.

Bottoms is hopeful work will continue to run smoothly when work on the elementary building begins in the summer months. Funds for these projects come from the bond issue approved by district voters last spring.
