Last month, it was announced Tony DeGrave would become the new superintendent at Monroe City. DeGrave, a Monroe City graduate, had served as the Van-Far superintendent for the 2019-20 school year. Current Monroe City Superintendent Dr. Tracy Bottoms says it turns out Van-Far is actually trading administrators with Monroe City.

John Fortney is finishing up his second year as the Monroe City High School principal. Bottoms says they have developed a timeline to find Fortney’s replacement.

The next meeting for the Monroe City School Board is scheduled for May 11th. The board met in-person for its April meeting by using the ample space of the high school library to observe social distancing guidelines.
