Moberly Welcomes Harrisburg For Courtwarming

Moberly welcomes Harrisburg for courtwarming Friday. It’s the first home games for Moberly in over a month. The 13-2 Lady Spartans took third in the California Tournament last week, including a win over state-ranked St. James, and followed with a 65-16 win over Fulton Wednesday night. Coach Tony Vestal says they did well facing adversity last week.

The Lady Spartans fell to Battle in the semis. After dropping six of its first eight games, Harrisburg has won six in-a-row to come in at 8-6. Coach Ryan Richardson says each win has come with increased confidence.

The Moberly boys are 7-8 and come in off a tough 69-68 loss at Fulton. The Spartans were up two with 0.5 left and fouled on a made layup as time expired, then Fulton converted the and-one for the win. Coach Brett Boyer says they can’t hang their head.

Moberly defeated Harrisburg 65-58 in the first round of the California Tournament. Coach Kyle Fisher’s 9-6 Bulldogs have won three straight since then.

You can hear Harrisburg at Moberly on Superstation KRES with pregame starting around 5:30. Austin Ward will have the call.
