Moberly Utilities Director Mary West-Calcagno says crews have been working on a major water main rupture since Wednesday underneath the intersection of Park Avenue and 7 Bridges Road. Crews were on-scene and had the leak isolated in slightly more than an hour.

This has impacted a large area, including Park Avenue, all of Glenwood, Ridgemont Court, Valleyview Court, Westwood Place, Beuth Place, West Mckinsey Street from South 6th Street through Beuth Road to Park Avenue, the 900 Block of Epperson, areas of Homestead including Homestead Drive, Conestoga, and Harvest Lane, areas of Parkwood subdivision, including Brierwood, Greenbrier, and Hillcrest, West Fisk and Green Hills, Tara Park and Longview, the 1100 block of Epperson, and Woody.

The majority of the customers should have had service restored.

Restoration of service stirs up corrosion and sedimentation in the water mains. Over the next few days, it may be necessary to clean strainers more than once.

If customers have any questions, they can call the Water Office at 660-263-4420.
