It took a few years to build Moberly Football into a contender. After a 1-25 start, Ambroson went 78-46 including the program’s first NCMC, district, and sectional titles. The 2007 Spartans won their first 11 games and rose to number three in the state rankings, before a quarterfinal loss to Borgia. The 2013 team also went undefeated in the regular season…..

Jason Ambroson spent 14 years in Moberly. He has coached the last nine years at Smithville and led the Warriors to the Class 4 state championship in 2021. His career record is 172-91.
