Moberly Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest
A traffic stop Saturday night in Moberly led to the arrest of a Moberly woman for several drug charges. Around 11:20 Saturday night, an officer with the Moberly Police Department stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Franklin and Hagood Streets, finding 46-year-old Dorothy Tolson. Tolson was found to be on probation in Chariton County for a charge of possession of a controlled substance. A search of Tolson and her vehicle turned up drug paraphernalia, scales, packaging materials, marijuana, methamphetamine, and a large amount of separate types of pills, all found to be a Schedule Four narcotic. All those items were found separated and packaged in a manner consistent with distribution.
Tolson was arrested for six counts of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was unable to post the required bond and taken to the Randolph County Justice Center. Sunday, a warrant was issued by the Randolph County court for delivery of a controlled substance with a 15-thousand dollar bond. Tolson remains in custody.
