Moberly Safety Grant Going to Upgrades

The state recently awarded its first round of funding for a new school safety program to 169 school districts and charter schools. Moberly is getting almost 105 thousand. Interim Superintendent Dr. Bryan Thomsen explains how the money will be spent.

The new automated external defibrillators will replace two older ones in the district. The 20 million dollar grant program was part of Governor Mike Parson’s extra spending request for the current state budget year. Districts applied to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education through a competitive grant application process.
