Moberly Optimist Club to Hold Annual Spaghetti Dinner
The Moberly Optimist Club is preparing to hold their annual spaghetti dinner this Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm at the St. Pius X Undercroft. Preparations and setup for the meal will begin Friday, and Saturday will feature a rotating groups of Optimists working to prepare the meal, serve the meal, and cleanup. Moberly Optimist member Jeff Freeman says the recipe for the spaghetti is a bit of a secret.
In addition to spaghetti, attendees will also receive a piece of bread and their choice of tea, lemonade, or water to drink. Freeman says this dinner serves as an important fundraiser for Moberly Optimist Baseball.
Most of the funds from the spaghetti will be used towards purchasing equipment for this summer. The cost to attend this Saturday’s Moberly Optimist Spaghetti Dinner is eight dollars for adults, three dollars for children under twelve, and children six and under eat free.
