Moberly-Mexico, Kirksville-Centralia Open Class 4 District 7 Tourney

The Class 4 District 7 baseball tournament from Macon begins Saturday with fourth-seeded Moberly against five seed Mexico and three seed Kirksville opposite sixth-seeded Centralia. Moberly is coming off a stretch of seven games in seven days and coach Tony Vestal thinks it went well.

The Spartans are 15-13. Two wins in that seven-game stretch came over Mexico. The 8-18 Bulldogs beat Moberly to open the season and are on a 10-game losing streak.

The Kirksville Tigers enter district play 16-13 after losing six straight games to start the spring season. Coach Derek Allen says his team has worked out the early season issues.

Centralia comes into the contest seeking late-season consistency after opening the month of May with three wins. Coach Mike Rodgers analyzes the Kirksville matchup.

You can hear both games on KTCM with pregame for Moberly and Mexico starting around 9:45. Austin Ward and Steven Findley Jr will have the call.
