Moberly Man Faces Child Molestation Charges

A Moberly man was charged Tuesday with three counts of child molestation. According to a court document, 29-year-old Steven Dale Mathis was accused of inappropriately touching three children under the age of six multiple times in 2020. Mathis was charged in June with abuse or neglect of a child and endangering the welfare of a child, with a preliminary hearing for those charges set for September 13th. He is also scheduled to be sentenced later this month for a domestic assault from last year, which he pled guilty to in February.
