A Moberly man found to have an existing warrant for Driving While Intoxicated was arrested around 11:30 Monday night. The warrant for 32-year-old Charles Gibson was found to be active and Gibson was placed under arrest.

MPD officers found paraphernalia related to the consumption of methamphetamine as well as a small amount of methamphetamine during a search of Gibson. He was transported to the Randolph County Justice Center for his existing warrant as well as new charges related to the illegal items.

Gibson was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. A new warrant was issued for Gibson Tuesday for possession of a controlled substance with a bond of $5,000 cash or surety.

Gibson remains in custody.
