A 66-year-old Moberly man faces a felony charge of assault after allegedly threatening to kill a Moberly Police Officer. According to court documents, officers responded to a residence on Sinnock Avenue in Moberly just before 3:00 Friday morning, and heard a man inside yelling. Believing there was a domestic assault taking pace, one officer forced entry and found Ronald Graupman yelling incoherently. Graupman was holding a long object in his hand and yelled “I’m going to kill you.” The officer retreated and Graupman, who allegedly had a framing square and a screwdriver, would come in and out of a room throwing objects and cussing. The officer made his way into the room, where Graupman appeared to be intoxicated or on a drug of some kind. He allegedly began reaching for the framing square, and began swinging the object at the officer. After about 20 minutes, Graupman was arrested with the assistance of other officers. A woman in the home said he had become violent with her and also threatened her.
