Moberly Girls Secure Solid Win at Battle
The Moberly Lady Spartans moved to 2-0 with a 59-49 victory at Battle Tuesday night. Battle led 16-9 at the end of the first quarter after closing it on a 9-1 run, then maintained the lead throughout the second to hold a 26-20 advantage at the break. Grace Billington was held scoreless in the first half but came alive in the third quarter.

Billington had another go-ahead three early in the fourth and Moberly never trailed again. Haley Baker helped keep the lead at a distance.

Moberly got a game-high 21 points from Asa Fanning.
Battle was led by Tayla Robinson’s 14 points. Vestal knew his team was eager to play.
Moberly will play Van-Far Monday in the first round of the Centralia Tournament.
