Moberly Girls, Hallsville Boys Win Big

The Hallsville boys and Moberly girls won big at Hallsville Wednesday night.

Hallsville pulled away for a 67-42 win in the boys game. Moberly knocked down four threes in the first quarter and trailed 15-14 after one quarter. Hallsville started the second quarter on a 13-2 run then held off an ensuing Spartan 8-0 run.

Isaac Stinson and Xavier Stinson scored 15 and 10 respectively for coach Brandon Crites’ 10-1 Indians.

Mason Bivins led the Spartans with 14 points. Coach Brett Boyer said they simply aren’t up to Hallsville’s level.

Moberly falls to 6-5.

The Lady Spartans had four score in double figures in a 74-28 victory. Asa Fanning put in 27 while Mia Faught added 16. Coach Tony Vestal complimented his team’s unselfish play.

Moberly led 26-8 after one quarter and outscored coach Matt Heet’s Lady Indians 22-4 in the second quarter.

Hallsville falls to 4-7. The Lady Spartans move to 9-1 and get a chance to avenge their lone loss to Centralia this Saturday night at the Sophie Cunningham Classic.
