Moberly Girls and Boys Produce Big Wins Over Hannibal

Both Moberly teams came away with double-digit victories at home against Hannibal.

The Lady Spartans never trailed in a dominant 73-32 victory against the Lady Pirates. Moberly held Hannibal to nine or fewer points scored in each of the four quarters. Haley Baker and Grace Billington made big plays in the opening quarter.

Steven Findley Jr with the call on KWIX and centralmoinfo.com. Asa Fanning complimented Billington’s 21 with a team-high 23 points. Hannibal leading-scorer Mariah Mayfield finished the game with zero points. Coach Tony Vestal spoke about the defensive intensity.

Moberly’s 73 points was second most for the team this season. Vestal talked about the upcoming stretch for the Lady Spartans.

Moberly improves to 17-2. Hannibal drops to 10-7.

The Spartans impressed in the nightcap, taking down the Pirates 59-41. Moberly grabbed a six point lead after one thanks to some outside shooting.

Mason Bivins scored 15 points, Ty Rucker finished with 14 and Ethan Land scored 10 points off the bench. Coach Brett Boyer.

Mason Hull scored 13 points to lead the Pirates. Boyer was pleased with the defensive effort.

The Spartans advance to a 9-10 record, with Hannibal falling to 6-11.
