Moberly Annual Water Disinfectant Change Starts Next Week

Starting next Tuesday, the City of Moberly will temporarily change the main disinfectant used in the water distribution system from chloramine to chlorine. This four to six week process is done annually. The city will flush water mains throughout the system, and once complete, the city will switch back to chloramine. You may or may not experience a difference in the taste and odor. The water is still safe to drink during this process. However, if you notice low water pressure while mains are being flushed, you should boil water for 15 minutes and allow to cool before consumption for the following 24 hours. Residents with questions and concerns should call the Water Office at 660-263-4420.
