The Moberly basketball teams visit Kirksville for the NCMC opener on KIRK Friday. Cord Hagedorn’s inexperienced Moberly boys earned their first win Tuesday versus Capital City.

Hagedorn’s 1-2 Spartans defeated Capital City 76-72. Kirksville enters 4-1 with the most veteran group in the NCMC. Tyler Martin’s Tigers topped Clark County in double overtime Tuesday.

Kirksville suffered it’s lone loss on a Grain Valley buzzer beater in the Marshall Tournament finals. The 2-2 Moberly girls open the doubleheader opposite 2-3 Kirksville. Lady Spartans head coach Tony Vestal scouts a Lady Tiger team in its first year under Nick Totta.

Kirksville has averaged 22 points per game over its last three contests, but Totta says he is pleased with the Lady Tiger defense.
