MIZZOU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL’S SMITH NAMED TO ALL-SEC FIRST TEAM, TEAM PICKED 9TH
Mizzou’s women’s basketball team was picked to finish ninth by the league’s coaches, and senior guard Amber Smith was named to the Preseason All-SEC First Team, the league announced Tuesday. The league’s coaches picked Texas A&M to win the conference, followed by South Carolina, and Mississippi State. Smith averaged 12.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, while recording 28 blocks and 31 steals last season, all career-highs. Smith was a Preseason Second Team selection last year, and was named the 2016-17 SEC Co-Freshman of the Year.
