Mizzou Names New Athletics Director

University of Missouri President Mun Choi announced Desiree Reed-Francois has been named the school’s next Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. She currently serves as the athletics director at UNLV and has more than 25 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics. She was the first Hispanic female and woman of color to serve as athletics director at the FBS level and will be the first female athletics director at both Mizzou and any public institution in the SEC. Throughout her career, Reed-Francois has served roles at Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Tennessee, Cal State-Fresno, Santa Clara, San Jose State, UC Berkeley and San Francisco.

The University of Missouri board will meet on Tuesday to approve the contract. An introductory press conference will be held in coming days. Reed-Francois will replace Jim Sterk as Director of Athletics.
