Mizzou Makes Higgins Permanent Vice Chancellor For Extension
The University of Missouri is keeping Dr Chad Higgins around as vice chancellor for extension and engagement as well as the system’s chief engagement officer. Higgins has served in the role since January of last year, when he took over following Marshall Stewart’s departure for Kansas State University. Starting March 1st, Higgins will no longer need the word interim in front of his title. In a statement, system president Mun Choi said that Higgins, “know the incredible importance of extension and engagement to those we serve throughout Missouri.” Choi went on to call Higgins a, “proven and dedicated leader who will work with elected officials, industry leaders and all Missourians to improve agriculture, health, education and economic development.” Prior to his time at Mizzou, Higgins served as senior director of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, and previously worked at land-grant universities in Louisiana, West Virginia, and Idaho.
