Missouri Wheat Production Enjoys Another Upgrade

Missouri wheat growers are expected to harvest six percent more of the crop than initially forecast.  USDA’s monthly Crop Production report revised Missouri’s wheat haul for the year upward by almost 250 million bushels to just over 44 million bushels.  That places Missouri on track for a 38-percent greater harvest compared to a year ago.  The bigger jump comes from an extra four bushels per acre compared to last month’s forecast, with Missouri now set to harvest 71 bushels per acre.  Harvested area remains at 620,000 acres.  Nationwide, production for the year was revised upward to 1.18 billion bushels, down seven percent from a year ago, with area harvested at close to 24.5 million acres and yield at 48.2 bushels per acre.
