Missouri State Highway Patrol Releases July 4th Counting Period Report

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released the numbers during their July 4th Holiday Counting Period. The patrol worked 312 traffic crashes, which resulted in 124 injuries and seven fatalities. These numbers are down significantly from last year when the patrol responded to 1,356 traffic crashes and 15 people were killed on Missouri roads. Troopers also made 144 DWI arrests and 81 drug arrests during the July 4th, 2021 holiday weekend. They also worked twelve boating accidents, which included four injuries and one death this year. There were eight BWI arrests and 43 drug arrests made by the patrol on the water. There were no drownings during the holiday weekend.
