Missouri On Track To Harvest Almost 10m More Bushels Of Wheat

Missouri farmers are set to harvest more wheat next month.  USDA’s monthly Crop Production report estimates that the state will produce 32.6 million bushels of wheat this year, up 42 percent from last year’s total.  Both acreage and yield are projected to increase, with harvest set to occur on 480,000 acres, and yield up six bushels per acre to 68.  Nationwide, winter wheat production is forecast to increase 10 percent from a year ago at 1.28 billion bushels, with yield increasing to 52.1 bushels per acre.  Area expected for harvest is up seven percent at 24.6 million acres.
