Missouri Legislature Considers Improvements to Highway 36

MoDOT recently hired two contractors to perform environmental studies for future improvements to Interstate 44. Representative Tim Taylor of Bunceton says the House Transportation Accountability Committee has begun discussing improvements to Highway 36.

The main conversation has been to expand Highway 36 and make it part of Interstate 72. Taylor says opinions are split.

The Missouri Legislature approved a bill last year for a $2.5 million traffic study for Highway 36. However, Governor Mike Parson vetoed the bill in July.
