Amid the uncertainty brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, the Missouri House of Representatives will return Wednesday to Jefferson City to iron out a supplemental budget. Representative Cheri Toalson Reisch of Hallsville says Wednesday’s gathering will feature a variety of safety precautions.

Social distancing will also force a change of procedure for the House of Representatives.

Once the supplemental budget is taken care of, the Missouri House of Representatives will turn its attention to the state budget. However, the uncertainty of when they will be able to meet, coupled with a tight deadline to pass the budget has Toalson Reisch hopeful Governor Mike Parson will take some action.

Toalson Reisch admits its too early to tell if Governor Parson will call for a special session. The Missouri Legislature is required to approve a balanced budget by May 8th.
