Missouri House Discussing Initiative Petition Reform This Week

The joint resolution was heard by the House Rules Committee Monday and could be heard on the House floor as early as Wednesday. If the resolution is approved during the legislative session, it would be decided on by Missouri voters in a future election. McGaugh says the goal is to eliminate outside influence from this process.

Under the joint resolution, proposed statutory measures would still only require a simple majority but would also require it to pass in 82 State House districts.
