Missouri House Budget Committee Continuing to Consider House Bill 21

The Missouri House Budget Committee continues to debate House Bill 21. It is meant to use funds originally intended for Medicaid expansion for a variety of social service programs. Member of the House Budget Committee, Representative Peggy McGaugh, details some of the items in the bill.

Governor Mike Parson provided his recommendations for House Bill 21 late last week. McGaugh says those recommendations will be considered by the budget committee Tuesday.

The original draft of House Bill 21 included $735 million for the state Medicaid program, MO HealthNet. The bill comes after the Missouri House of Representatives opted not to adopt Medicaid expansion in the state.
