A bill heading to the floor of the Missouri House of Representatives could move some local elections to November. House Bill 920 is sponsored by Ben Baker of Neosho. Representative Peggy McGaugh explains some of the logic behind the bill.

McGaugh previously served as the longtime Carroll County Clerk. She says the bill’s original wording would cause more problems for local elections.

The bill passed out of the House Rules Committee with a requirement of Baker.

Both Senate Bill 414 and Senate Joint Resolution 5 have similar components to Baker’s bill.
