Missouri producers planning to grow industrial hemp this year can now apply for licenses to do so on their farms. Luke Poindexter is a fifth-generation row crop farmer in Adrian who had a chance to grow the crop last year, doing so just to the west as part of Kansas’ pilot program.

Poindexter suggests farmers beginning to grow hemp need to start small.

Poindexter says producers should also have a destination for their hemp crop lined up before seed goes into the ground.
