Dove season begins September 1st in Missouri. The season is for mourning, white-winged and Eurasian-collared doves. Monroe County Conservation Agent Jessica Filla provides a couple of reminders for dove hunters.
Shotguns must be ten-gauge or smaller and manufactured or modified to not hold more than three shells. Filla says there are several other prohibited methods.
The daily limit for doves is 15 and the possession limit is 45. Filla says there is an ideal habitat to find doves in.
Freshly harvested fields also attract doves. Dove season runs until November 29th.
