Missouri Department of Conservation Offering Deer Hunting Clinic for Critically Ill Youth

The Missouri Department of Conservation will offer a deer hunting clinic for kids with terminal or chronic illnesses Friday, October 29th from 3:30 to 8:30 pm at the Rest Inn Him Lodge and Retreat Center in Unionville. Participants will learn about deer biology and habitat, hunting safety and shooting skills, ammunition and firearm selection, hunting methods, and regulations. They will also have the opportunity to go fishing and participate in other activities around deer camp. Through October 31st they will participate in a mentored deer hunt. The Conservation Department will provide meals, track chairs for those with mobility limitations, hunting equipment, and staff to assist. Space is limited, and the registration deadline is October 16th. Applicants must be under 21 on October 29th, 2021. Participants 16 and older will hunt using archery methods.
