Milan Sex Offender Charged with Drug Possession in Linn County

A Milan sex offender had his day in court Tuesday in Linn County. In August 2019, 50-year-old Roger Cassity of Milan was arrested and charged in Brookfield with felony possession of a controlled substance after he was found with methamphetamine. Cassity was also charged with being a sex offender physically present or loitering within 500 feet of a park. After two years of delays in the case a Linn County court today found Cassity guilty on the drug possession charge, but he was acquitted on the sex offender charge. Sentencing for Cassity will be held on December 7th. Cassity was previously charged with statutory rape in Linn County in 2017.
