Milan City Council Approves Noise Ordinance
February 6, 2020 7:02AM CST
The Milan City council has approved an engine brake ordinance for the entire city. Milan City Administrator Fred Ventresco says the ordinance was needed following a steady stream of noise complaints for semi trucks braking through the city.
The City Council met Monday night and approved the ordinance by a vote of 4-1. Ventresco says this engine brake ordinance isn’t unprecedented.
The ordinance went into effect immediately after the city council’s approval. However, Ventresco says enforcement of the ordinance will take time.
The next Milan City Council meeting is scheduled for February 18th.
