Mexico City Manager Bruce Slagle announced Wednesday the city will not be proceeding to Phase 2 of the city’s facility reopen plan on June 1, as originally projected. One of the Gateway Criteria required to meet is 14 days of improving health conditions throughout the community. Based on the increase of new cases over the past week, Mexico will not meet that criteria by June 1 and will remain in Phase 1 of reopening. Slagle said city staff will continue to monitor conditions and consult with health officials on a daily basis to determine when the 14 day counting period can begin.
