Mexico Man Shoots at House, Resident Shoots Back, and Man Crashes Leaving Scene

Mexico Public Safety responded to a disturbance involving a gun in the 1000 block of West Breckenridge about 6pm Monday. While officers were in the area, there was a crash reported in the 300 block of North Missouri with the driver walking from the scene. The initial investigation indicated a 30-year-old Mexico man visited a home on Breckenridge several times Monday and threatened the residents. The residents called Mexico Public Safety earlier Monday, but the man left before officers arrived, and authorities couldn’t locate the individual. The man later returned and shot at the home, and a resident shot back. The man then drove from the scene, crashed, walked to a nearby house, and received a ride to an Audrain County hospital. Authorities later transported the 30-year-old Mexico man to a Columbia hospital.
