Mexico jumped out to a 12-2 lead after one quarter and later held a 16-12 advantage at half. Moberly tied the game multiple times, but the lead eluded the Lady Spartans. Mexico head coach Ed Costley was proud of his team for responding to Moberly’s comeback.

Senior Logan Blevins paced Mexico with 10 points and was a force on the boards. After scoring 19 in Mexico’s win over Moberly on Saturday, Lady Bulldog leading scorer Mya Miller was held to six points, all from the charity stripe.

On a night where Moberly honored senior Mary Billington for her 1,000th career point, Mexico limited the Lady Spartans to 22 points below their season average. Other than Billington, who had 14, no other player landed in double-figures. Moberly head coach Tony Vestal evaluated the offensive performance.

Moberly falls to 8-8 and 1-2 in the NCMC while Mexico improves to 10-5 and 3-1 in conference play.

Mexico topped Moberly 69-31 in the boys game. The Bulldogs built a 24-3 lead after the first quarter. The Spartans trimmed the deficit to 14 at the break, then Mexico dominated the second half. Bulldogs head coach Darren Pappas discussed the complete effort.

Four Bulldogs scored in double-figures. Senior Zach Watkins provided a game-high 17 points for 6-9 Mexico, who moves to 3-1 in the NCMC. Moberly head coach Cord Hagedorn reacted to the Spartans struggles postgame.
