Mexico Assault and Robbery
Mexico Public Safety says it responded to the 1300 block of Paris Road after an assault victim arrived at the location about 7am Wednesday. Officers spoke with a 42 year-old Mexico man who reported a man and woman entered his home in the 300 block of East Liberty through an unlocked back door, assaulted him, and took some of his possessions. The victim suffered significant injuries and went to a Columbia hospital.
Authorities identified the suspects as 32-year-old Phillip J. Sledge and 25-year-old Terra E. Burg, both of Mexico. Sledge turned himself in at the Mexico Public Safety Department about 12:30pm Wednesday. The suspect headed to the Audrain County Jail for first degree burglary and first degree robbery. The Missouri State Highway Patrol located Burg in Callaway County and transported her to the Callaway County Jail for outstanding arrest warrants from unrelated incidents.
