Meny Receives The KRES Legends Award

A two-time KRES Coach of the Year received the Legends Award at the banquet Wednesday night. Brian Meny led four area basketball programs for a combined 26 years….

The Paris native played for previous Legends Award recipient Don Williams….

Meny started his coaching career in his native Monroe County leading Madison girls basketball for eight years….

He then switched to boys basketball and spent nine years at Van-Far High School. Meny had a future Division 1 player in Mike Smith and led the 2004 Indians to the Class 2 State Championship….

Meny was named the MBCA Class 2 Coach of the Year. He was the head coach of Palmyra boys basketball for four years and wrapped up his varsity career by leading the Battle boys program for five years.

Brian Meny finished his career with a record of 515-285. He was inducted into the MBCA Hall of Fame in 2021.
