A deer in southern Randolph County recently tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). The Missouri Department of Conservation is now gearing up for targeted culling operations to limit the spread of the disease in the county. Conservation Agent Zach Barnes says an informative meeting is scheduled for area landowners Thursday night from 6 to 8:30 at the Lions Club building in Higbee.
Barnes explains the targeted culling process.
The core is located within one to two miles of where the infected deer was found. The targeted culling operation will likely run from mid-January to mid-March.
