Meadville Uses Suffocating Defense To Advance To Final Four 

The Meadville Lady Eagles secured their spot in the final four with a 40-23 victory over the St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets at MACC Fitzsimmons-John Arena. Points were at a premium for both teams.

Madison Carvajal led the way for the Lady Eagles with a game high 14 points while Korrie Holcer chipped in 12. Holcer scored seven of those points in the fourth quarter, all of them coming from the free throw line. The Lady Eagles scored all 12 of their fourth quarter points from the free throw line and dominated the time of possession. Meadville head coach Steve Carvajal discussed his team’s poise late in the game. 

The Lady Eagles suffocating defense held St Elizabeth to single digits in all four quarters. They also limited the Lady Hornets, leading scorer Tori Kemna to just two points. Coach Steve Carvajal praised his team’s defensive effort. 

22-7 record. Meadville keeps their undefeated record intact and will take on Leeton  for a chance to play in the state championship game.
