Meadville Lady Eagles End Perfect Season With Class 1 Championship

That was the final call from Springfield as the Meadville Lady Eagles defeated Chadwick 39-28 to put the final touches on their magical 31-0 season.

It was a flipped script for Meadville in the championship game compared to the semifinal, having trailed for a majority of the first half to the Lady Cardinals. Chadwick led by just one point after two quarters. Paige Carvajal stepped up once again for the Lady Eagles in the third.

Steven Findley Jr. with the call on KRES and Carvajal’s second three of the quarter came with 3:50 remaining. Madison Carvajal joined her sister in the Lady Eagles three-point barrage at the buzzer.

Meadville would not relinquish the lead from that moment on, and held Chadwick to just two points in the fourth. Coach Steve Carvajal spoke about the defense in the final frame.

Korrie Holcer dropped 18 points in the winning effort. This is the first title for Meadville since 1995. Coach Carvajal said his team battled in multiple ways late in the season.

Chadwick finishes the season 25-6. Meadville graduates seniors Mallory Dennis, Makayla Schieb and Kendra Meyers.
