A large bill led by Representative Peggy McGaugh of Carrollton is making its way to the House floor this week. House Bill 1065 made its way through the House Elections and Elected Officials Committee. McGaugh says the main goal of the bill is to maintain election integrity.

Another focus of the bill is doing away with Missouri’s Presidential Primary election. McGaugh says eliminating this election would be beneficial for the state.

If that election is eliminated Missouri would switch to a caucus to determine its presidential preference. McGaugh is hopeful the bill will pass through and onto the Senate by the start of Spring Break on March 15th.
