Marion County May Consider Starting Early

Marion County is one of the local school districts that will be switching to a four-day school week, beginning with the new academic year. Superintendent Deacon Windsor says that was one of the main topics discussed during the last school board meeting.

The State Board of Education has voted to give the Education Commissioner the authority to decide whether districts can start the school year earlier this fall.

The four-day week will include classes Tuesday through Friday next year at Marion County.
