Marceline Man Drowns in Private Pond

A Marceline man is dead after drowning in a private pond two miles northeast of Laclede. The incident occurred at 2:30 pm Sunday. The victim, 26-year old Jacob Sprague of Marceline was suffering from heat exhaustion and went into the pond to cool off. He was found a short while later lying face down in the pond.
