Marceline Hosts Salisbury In District Quarterfinal Skirmish

The Marceline Tigers take on the Salisbury Panthers with a trip to the district semifinal on the line. The Tigers finished the regular season with a 55-16 win against Gallatin. Quarterback Dax Thomas amassed over 200 yards of total offense with 5 total touchdowns. Coach Joey Peterson says the entire team contributed in the win.
Marceline defeated Salisbury 66-30 in the regular season matchup between the two sides. The Tigers produced three defensive touchdowns in the big win. Peterson says his team can’t dwell on the past.
Salisbury has won won three of its last five games entering the postseason. Coach Oren Magruder says the Panthers are focused ahead of the playoffs.
Marceline ran for 331 yards the first time the two teams met. Magruder says the offensive line for Marceline set the tone in the previous meeting.
