Macon’s Marvelous Season Ends in State Semifinals Against Licking

Macon lost to Licking 43-33 in the Class 3 state semifinals in Springfield Friday. The Tigerettes opened both halves on a 7-0 run, but the Lady Wildcats closed the third quarter on a 15-0 run to enter the fourth with a 35-26 lead. Macon’s Tierra Wood later trimmed the deficit to five.

Regional Radio’s Eric Duick with the call three minutes into the fourth quarter on KWIX and centralmoinfo.com. Macon head coach Richard Driscoll explained how 25-6 Licking executed its 15-0 run late in the third.

Driscoll referenced Licking’s two-time All-State guard Karlee Holland, who provided a game-high 16 points. The 24-5 Tigerettes shot 31 percent from the field.
