Macon Survives Late Moberly Surge, Earns Road Win

The Macon Tigerettes outlasted the Moberly Lady Spartans 8-6 at Omar Bradley Field. Junior Keely Hicks started the scoring for Macon with one of her four hits for the night.
Steven Findley Jr with the call on 97.3 KTCM and centralmoinfo.com. The Tigerettes jumped out to a 6-0 in lead in the 3rd before Moberly climbed back into the ballgame. The Lady Spartans produced three runs in the 5th to cut the lead in half. Macon added 2 more runs in the top of the 7th. Maddie Thompson kept the hope alive for Moberly.
Moberly added a run to make it 8-6, but the comeback fell short as Payton Weimer struck out Bre Morgan with two on to end the game. Weimer went the distance with five strikeouts in the win. Macon coach LeaAnn Hamlin.
Taylor Martin took the loss for Moberly on the mound. The Lady Spartans were doubled up on two occasions with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Coach Drew Hunt spoke about the opportunities left on the bases.
Thompson led Moberly offensively with 3 RBIs on two hits. Macon earned its third straight win moving to 3-2. Moberly falls to 2-4 and are losers of the last two games.
